Bloomington, IN – The No. 15 Wagner women's water polo team travels to Bloomington, IN to compete at the Indiana Invitational on March 2-3 against No. 23 Cal State Northridge, host No. 20 Indiana, Mercyhurst and Salem International.
Last time out, the 8-5 Seahawks upset the then No. 14 Princeton Tigers in a tight matchup with a final score of 11-10. With the Green & White up 11-10, freshman
Mikaela Wells secured the win for the Seahawks, grabbing a steal and eliminating Princeton's final chance to tie the game.
The CSUN Matadors are 6-10, following a four game losing streak against tough top 25 opponents in No. 2 Stanford, No. 7 UC Irvine, No. 17 Long Beach State and No. 25 San Diego State. No. 20 host Indiana holds a 1-8 record thus far, with its only win coming against then ranked No. 15 UC San Diego on January 19. The Mercyhurst Lakers are 1-7 after defeating Virginia Military Institute on February 17. Salem International is 5-8 after going 3-1 last weekend at the Washington & Jefferson Invite falling to Gannon and defeating Villanova, Occidental and host Washington & Jefferson.
On Saturday, March 2 the Seahawks will begin the tournament taking on No. 23 Cal State Northridge at 11:20 a.m. followed by No. 20 Indiana at 6:00 p.m. The Green & White will wrap up the weekend on Sunday against Mercyhurst at 10:40 a.m. before the final game against Salem International at 3:10 p.m.
All four games will have live stats available to follow along. The matchup between host No. 20 Indiana and the Seahawks will be streamed live on BTN Plus at a premium.
