Edison, NJ – Freshman attack
Sofia Diaz Alvarez earned two weekly honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the league office announced today.
Diaz Alvarez garnered her second Rookie of the Week honor as well as her first Offensive Player of the Week award after tallying 20 goals and five assists in four games over the weekend at the Bucknell Invite. The Spaniard posted a .722 shooting percentage for the weekend, helping the Seahawks defeat Saint Francis U (23-3), Gannon (17-3) and No. 24 Bucknell (13-3) before falling to No. 17 Harvard (11-10).
The freshman earned her first Rookie of the Week distinction on January 23 when Wagner swept the MAAC weekly awards as senior attack
Erica Hardy earned Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore goalie
Katherine Campbell was named Defensive Player of the Week.
The 7-5 Seahawks are back in action March 2-3 when they compete at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, IN.
