Philadelphia, PA – The Wagner men's water polo team is set to take on the La Salle Explorers Friday evening in Philadelphia, PA at 7:00 p.m. This will be the Seahawks second meeting with the Explorers this season, after defeating them by the score of 15-12 in the Spiro Sports Center back on September 28.

The Green & White are back in the pool for the first time since October 23, when they dropped a 12-11 OT decision to the Fordham Rams in the Bronx. The Seahawks have fallen by two goals or less in four of their last five matches, including a 10-8 defeat to the No. 14 Bucknell Bison in Boston, MA.

ABOUT LA SALLE:
The Explorers are coming into this matchup with an overall record of 6-17 and in the midst of a five-game skid, including four losses at the Harvard Invite to Navy, No. 20 St. Francis Brooklyn, No. 17 Pomona-Pitzer, and No. 9 Harvard. During their time in Boston, the La Salle averaged a little below five goals per game, while allowing over 15 goals per 32 minutes.

The Explorers have only managed to earn one Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) victory thus far, a 10-8 win over Navy in Annapolis on October 12, setting their current conference record at 1-8.

La Salle is led by junior attacker Daniel Domotor, who is currently leading the team in both goals (36) and assists (33). In goal, the Explorers lean on Cameron Schiable who has started 16 of 23 games, recording over 100 saves on the season.

Following their matchup with Wagner, La Salle will head to Lewisberg, PA to take on the No. 15 Bucknell Bison on Saturday at 6:00 pm.

ALL-TIME AGAINST IONA:
In four all-time meetings against La Salle, dating back to September 16, 2018, the Seahawks are 4-0 against the Explorers. Most recently, Wagner defeated La Salle for their second victory of the season by the score of 15-12 in the Spiro Sports Center on September 28.

The Green & White have averaged an impressive 19.5 goals per meeting versus La Salle, while only conceding an average of 8 goals per game. Wagner defeated the Explorers 24-5 on October 7, 2018 in the teams' only previous meeting in Philadelphia, PA.
