Bronx, NY – The Wagner men's water polo team fell to 4-20 on the season, after dropping a hard-fought overtime game against No. 16 Fordham, 12-11.

Wagner stormed out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter, with goals from
Matthew Miller,
Aaron Leighton, and
Shaked Yacoby. Fordham knotted the game at three goals apiece early in the second quarter, but goals from
András Bimbó-Szuhai and Yacoby put Wagner ahead 5-4 at halftime.
The Seahawks would keep their lead through the third quarter, with goals from
Jordi Alonso and
Lachlan Trabinger, and enter the final stanza leading 7-6. In the fourth quarter, Alonso would net two more goals, along with
Olivér Fodor's first to get the Green & White to 10 goals, but a Fordham goal with only 18 seconds remaining would send the two teams to overtime.
In the added periods, Wagner would only be able to find the back of the net once, compliments of
Matthew Miller, while Fordham would score twice, including the game winner by former Seahawk
Oscar Nomura with only a minute and eight seconds remaining.
The Rams were led by a trio of hat tricks from Jake Miller-Tolt, Tristen Knoflick, and Nomura. In goal, Bailey O'Mara recorded a game-high 15 saves to lead the Rams to victory.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR WAGNER
The Green & White will travel to Philadelphia, PA to take on the La Salle Explorers on Friday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. This will be their second meeting with La Salle, after defeating them 15-12 at home on September 28.
