Boston, MA – After being held to only two second half goals, Wagner men's water polo fell to the Brown Bears 10-9 to begin the Harvard Invite.

Brown 10, Wagner 9
Both the Seahawks and Bears came out of the gates hot, scoring nine of the games total 19 goals in the first period. A minute and a half into the match Brown struck first, but Matthew Miller responded for the Green & White only 33 seconds later. The Bears would take the lead back and extend it to 3-1 before Jordi Alonso scored Wagner's second goal of the day. Brown strengthened their lead to 5-2 before goals from Lachlan Trabinger and Vuk Bulajic would trim the lead to 5-4 at the end of the first quarter.

Olivér Fodor recorded a hat-trick in the second quarter, but a pair of Brown goals would prevent the Seahawks from ever grabbing the lead, sending the teams to the locker room knotted up at seven goals apiece.

The Bears used a 3-0 run to start the second half to distance themselves from the Seahawks. Miller responded with his second goal of the night with only 18 seconds remaining in the third quarter, ending the period with Brown leading 10-8.

Fodor notched his fourth goal of the night a little over 2 and half minutes into the final quarter, however that would be the only score in the period, allowing the Bears to exit the pool with a 10-9 win.

The Bears were led by James Thygesen, who tallied four goals and one assist on the night. Six different Brown swimmers accompanied him on the scoresheet as they made it a point to move the ball around the pool. In goal, Riad Halal led the Bears with nine second half saves, only allowing two Wagner goals.
