Boston, MA – The Wagner College women's indoor track & field team competed at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore
Tiffany Hanna produced one of Wagner's top finish, as she finished eighth overall in the weight throw with a launch of 16.28m. Hanna also ranked among the top-15 in the shot put, turning in a finals mark of 12.03m. Fellow classmate,
Jodie Bonhometre also finished among the top-20 in the shot put, as her best throw came in at 11.73m.
Senior Miracle
Nwobu turned in a top-50 performance among the 157 athletes that competed in the 200m run, as she clocked in with a time of 25.72. During the preliminaries of the 60m dash, Nwobu crossed the finish line at 8.11. The senior sprinter now ranks among the top-10 in both events on the Northeast Conference (NEC) Performance List.
Out of the 113 harriers competing in the
400m, sophomore Anna
Greentree finished 32nd with a season's best time of 58.20, while freshman teammate,
Sara Rutherford, was among the top-75 as she concluded the race with a time of 1:00.30.
Junior Alexandre Elder posted a time of 2:22.12 in the 800m, while classmate
Sara Carney put forth a top-50 performance in the mile, as she clocked in with a time of 5:09.71. Sophomore
Cheyenne Brown rounded out the top-75 in the 200m dash, as she crossed the finish line in 26:11.
The women's 4x400 relay team, composed of Rutherford, Greentree, Elder and freshman Kayla Hat, were among the top-30 finishers in the event, crossing the finish line for a season-best 4:05.70.
In the pole vault, freshman
Hannah Cloutier was among the top-15 as she tied for 11th place in the event, clearing 3.20m. Sophomore
Adia Cavalier placed among the top-50 in the long jump, soaring 4.85m.
Other notable finishes in the field events included freshman Hanna eleventh place finish, with a mark of 3.20m, and sophomore
Adia Cavalier's mark of 4.85 in the long jump event.
The Seahawks will next compete on February 1 at its home facility, Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Complex, as they will compete in the annual Metropolitan Indoor Championships.
