Edison, NJ – The Wagner women's water polo team, which has now moved to the No. 16 spot in the Collegiate Water Polo Associations (CWPA) rankings following its competitive showing in last weekend's season-opening UC Santa Barbara Winter Invite. Senior attack

Sofia Diaz Alvarez each earned weekly honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the league office announced today.
Hardy was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week after compiling 9 points over the weekend at the UCSB Winter Invite. The consistent senior has started off her final campaign in style, scoring seven goals while distributing two assists in the Seahawks' four games. The Montreal native recorded two hat tricks against No.6 UC Irvine and No. 17 UC Santa Barbara. She also dished out two assists in an 11-8 win over No. 15 UC San Diego.
Campbell was tabbed the MAAC Defensive Player of the week after making 34 saves in four games, three of which against nationally ranked opponents in No. 6 UC Irvine, No.17 UC Santa Barbara and No. 15 UC San Diego. The Regina, Saskatchewan native blocked 11 shots in a victory over San Diego.
Diaz Alvarez made it a Wagner sweep in copping Rookie of the Week honors after tallying six goals in her first weekend wearing a Seahawk cap. The Spaniard also dished out two assists and posted a .316 shooting percentage for the weekend.
This week's sweep marks the second time the Green & White have taken all three weekly MAAC honors since February 1, 2018 when
Kimberly Watson,
Katherine Campbell and
Daisy Nankervis garnered each of the three awards.
The 1-3 Seahawks are back in action February 1-3 when they compete at the Brown Invite in Providence, RI.
