Santa Barbara, CA – Five-time defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) water polo champions open the 2019 season in Santa Barbara, CA on Saturday, January 19 as the Seahawks compete in the UCSB Winter lnvite.
Led by ninth-year head coach
Chris Radmonovich, the No. 14 Seahawks are slated to face three nationally ranked teams over the course of two days. To kickoff the 2019 campaign on Saturday, the Green & White will face off against Azusa Pacific University at 12:15p.m. followed by No. 6 ranked UC Irvine at 3:15 p.m. On Sunday, Wagner will play the host school in No. 17 UC Santa Barbara at 10:30 a.m. before concluding the tournament against No. 15 UC San Diego at 1:30 p.m.
Radmonovich, the 2018 BSN Coach of the Year will look to senior captain
Erica Hardy to lead the Seahawks throughout their challenging non-conference schedule. Selected as the 2019 Preseason MAAC Player of the Year, the 2018 All-American selection has amassed 338 total points on 180 goals and 158 assists in her career thus far as she enters her fourth and final season.
Wagner enters the 2019 season chasing its sixth consecutive MAAC Championship after besting Marist in the final game each of the last five years.
Following this weekend, Wagner will travel to Providence, RI for the Brown Invite on February 1-2.
