Annapolis, MD – The No. 20 Wagner men's water polo team secured its first win of the 2018 season with a 26-9 victory over Salem International on the final day of the Navy Fall Invitational.
The Green & White led the Tigers throughout the duration of the game, extending its lead more each period, eventually defeating Salem International by a 17 goal margin.
Eight Seahawks scored goals in the win, five of which registered hat tricks, including freshman utility
Vuk Bulajic, sophomore driver
Jasmin Kolasinac, junior utility
Lachlan Trabinger, sophomore 2M András Bimbó-Szuhai and junior driver
Oscar Nomura.
Kolasinac led the offense, finding the back of the net seven times and also winning two sprints, followed by Bimbo-Szuhai who contributed five goals and two assists.
Bulajic also dished out three assists, while senior utiity
Devin O'Donnell and sophomore driver
Jordi Alonso notched two assists each. O'Donnell also drew four exclusions while sophomore lefty
Jack Leighton added one goal to the mix.
Defensively, senior goalie
Cameron Woldt blocked six shots and grabbed two steals, sharing time with sophomore goalie
Benjamin Angulo who recorded one save and one steal.
The Seahawks are back in action September 7-8 as they travel to the Princeton Invite to take on three nationally ranked opponents in No. 1 UCLA, No. 19 St. Francis College, and No. 15 Brown University.
