Annapolis, MD – The Wagner College men's water polo team, in its third year of existence, is scheduled to begin its 2018 season over the Labor Day weekend at the Navy Fall Invitational.

The 2018 Green & White squad is composed of 24 student-athletes, which include four seniors, eight juniors, nine sophomores, and three freshmen.

Head Coach Chris Radmonovich has named two team captains for the 2018 campaign in senior utility Devin O'Donnell and sophomore driver Jasmin Kolasinac. O'Donnell played in 30 games for the Seahawks in 2017, while starting in 25. The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native scored 13 goals, grabbed 47 steals, and also dished out 17 assists in his junior season to help the Green & White reach their first MAWPC final appearance.

Kolasinac, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, had a stellar rookie campaign in his first season on Grymes Hill, recording single-season records as a freshman in goals (89), steals (83), and exclusions drawn (90), while starting in all 31 games. Additionally, he  tallied 44 assists and 18 blocks and won eight sprints for the Green & White. He was also named First Team All-ACWPC after leading the league in goals (89) and points (133). The driver tallied a program-record nine goals in a single game against Mercyhurst on September 16. Kolasinac was named MAWPC Rookie of the Week on September 7 and Offensive Player of the Week on October 4.

In the Cage
The Seahawks' defense will feature a veteran this season in senior Cameron Woldt. In 2017, the goalie started in all 31 games for the Seahawks, recording 250 saves, 17 assists, and 76 steals in the cage during his junior campaign. The San Diego, CA native earned MAWPC Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 21 and posted a .398 save percentage on the year.

In the Polls
The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) released the 2018 preseason polls last week. The Green & White were selected to finish tie for second in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference along with Bucknell University. In 2017, Wagner went 5-5 in conference play, upsetting top-seeded Bucknell 10-8 to advance to Wagner's first ever championship game appearance. The Seahawks were also tabbed as No. 20 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Preseason Poll, marking the first time in the program's three-year history that Wagner has appeared in the preseason poll.

On Saturday, September 1, the Green & White will face No. 18 George Washington at 11:30 am to kick off the Navy Fall Invitational before taking on No. 13 Princeton at 7:00 pm. On Sunday, Wagner will conclude the two-day tournament against Salem International at 10:15 am.
