Los Angeles, CA – The Wagner women's water polo (24-6, 14-0 MAAC) team travels to Los Angeles, CA to meet UC San Diego in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Championship held at the campus of University of Southern California on Tuesday, May 8 at 10:00 pm (7:00 pm PT).

This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Seahawks have captured the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship and the league's accompanying automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with this year's title coming by a 10-7 count over Marist on April 29.
The Green & White have now won eight MAAC Championships, setting a conference record. Since April 12, 2015, Wagner is 44-0 against league foes.
The winner of the opening round game advances to take on No. 1 USC on Friday, May 11, at 3 p.m. (ET) in the first round.
The Seahawks enter the contest riding a 16-game winning streak while the Tritons boast a 24-11 overall record after winning last weekend's Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championship tournament, and has won eight of its last nine games overall.
Wagner narrowly defeated UC San Diego 6-5 in last year's opening round to secure its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.
The Seahawks will look to two-time MAAC Tournament MVP
Kimberly Watson to lead the way offensively. The Offensive Player of the Year found the back of the net seven times to lead the scoring attack as the squad shot .345 percent in the MAAC title game and went 4-9 on power plays.
Watson leads the team with 154 points on 106 goals and 48 assists, while Junior attack
Erica Hardy has posted 141 points on 82 goals and 59 assists, as well as a team-high 76 steals.
