Staten Island, NY – The Wagner baseball team completed the doubleheader sweep by shutting out Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-0, in game two of Saturday's twinbill.
The Seahawks, who have now won six consecutive games, improve to 29-12 on the season and 14-3 in Northeast Conference (NEC) action while the Knights fall to 10-27 overall and 1-16 in the conference.

. The 2018 Seahawks are just two wins away from match the program's single-season record for wins, which stands at 31, set by the 2009 squad that was coached by Joe Litterio, the current bench boss at Big Ten member Rutgers.
Freshman right-hander
Pat Gallagher (3-3) registered the first complete game of his collegiate career, not allowing a run over the full seven innings. The Worcester, MA allowed just two hits, walked three and struck out six in picking up his third win of the season.

Anthony Godino and junior CF
Joe Silvestrone each had two hits in the victory. Silvestrone, senior SS
Sean Mazzio, junior catcher Phi Capra and
Will Johnson added one RBI apiece in the victory.
For Fairleigh Dickinson, Evan McDonald and Mike Veit were the only Knights to record a hit off Gallagher. Starter Corey Zeller (2-5), also went the distance, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out four.
The Seahawks got on the board in the bottom of the second. Godino tripled to right center to kick-start the frame. Following back-to-back groundouts, Silvestrone laced a triple to left field, scoring Godino.
Gallagher, meanwhile quickly got into a groove on the mound. After issuing a leadoff walk to Brandon Seltzer in the first, the first-year righty set down the next seven batters in a row. After issuing two straight walks to James Donlon and Seltzer, he kept the Knights off the board by retiring the next two on fly outs to right and left field, respectively. Gallagher did not give up a hit until the top of the fourth when Veit doubled to left.
Wagner added two more in the bottom of the fifth in taking a 3-0 lead. Senior 2B
Nick Mascelli sent a two-out double to right-center and came around to score on a Mazzio single. Capra pounced on Zeller's first pitch, ripping a double to right field, scoring Mazzio.
The Seahawks scored the final run of the contest as Johnson flew out to right, which allowed sophomore designated hitter,
Freddy Sabido, to score from third on a sacrifice fly.
These teams wrap up their four-game slate on Sunday afternoon with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.
