Loretto, PA – After taking Co-Northeast Conference (NEC) leader Robert Morris to the wire before falling by three points on Friday night, the Wagner women's basketball team fell on the home floor of the league's other co-leader, Saint Francis U, as the Red Flash posted an 86-55 victory on Senior Day at DeGol Arena.
With the loss, the Seahawks finish the season with an overall record of 6-23, 4-14 in the NEC. Of those 14 conference defeats, eight came by single digits, six of which were final margins of five points or less.
SFU finishes the regular season with an overall record of 21-9. The 16-2 NEC record tied Robert Morris for first place in the standings. These teams were 1-1 in head-to-head competition but based on tie-breaker procedures, RMU will enter this week's NEC Tournament as the No. 1 seed with SFU gaining the No. 2 seed.
Following an emotional Senior Day ceremony, the Red Flash jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in this one. Wagner responded with an 11-4 run to knot the score at 11-11 before SFU outscored Wagner 18-8 to close the first quarter with 29-19 lead. The Red Flash held a sizeable 28-12 margin in the second quarter in building a 55-31 en route to the 31-point win.

Sierra Clark finished her final game as a Seahawk with her NEC-leading 16th double-double of the season, following a 19-point, 10-rebound effort this afternoon. The 5-11 forward, who was recruited to and played for
Heather Jacobs at Adelphi University where she went on to earn Division II All-American honors last season, wound up averaging 18.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in her one season as a Seahawk, ranking second in the NEC in both categories.
In addition, the 5-11 forward was the league leader in blocked shots with 68, a figure that ranks second on the Seahawk all-time single-season list behind only Ugo Nwaigwe, who recorded 114 blocks in 2013-14, which ranked fourth in the nation that season.
Redshirt freshman forward
Taylah Simmons and freshman guard
Khaleah Dixon-Edwards added eight points apiece on the day for Wagner, while junior guard
Nakylia Carter chipped in with seven points along with a game-high six assists.
SFU was led by Karson Swogger, who hit for a game-high 23 points, while Jessica Kovatch and Caitlyn Kroll added 16 and 13 points, respectively.
