Cambridge, MA – The Wagner women's water polo team split its matches on day two of the Harvard Invitational, downing host No. 21 Harvard 10-6 before falling to No. 18 San Jose State, 7-6.
Wagner 10 Harvard 6:
Wagner took a 3-0 lead over the Crimson in the first quarter of play as senior utility
Kimberly Watson took over, notching all three Seahawk goals and completing a hat trick after just eight minutes.
In the second stanza, freshman utility
Daisy Nankervis and junior attack
Erica Hardy each tallied one goal apiece while freshman goalie
Katherine Campbell and the strong Green & White defense was able to hold the Crimson to just one goal before the conclusion of the first half with a score of 5-1.
The Seahawks continued to lead the whole game, as Harvard was able to pull within one during the third period, before Nankervis poured in two more goals to finish with a hat trick and Watson added her fourth of the game. Wagner held an 8-4 advantage over the Crimson entering into the fourth and final period.

Lacey Anderson registered two goals in the fourth to help Wagner to a 10-6 victory over Harvard as Campbell finished with seven blocks in the win.
San Jose State 7 Wagner 6:
San Jose State opened the first period with a 3-2 advantage over the Seahawks, while redshirt sophomore utility Kristy Donkin and Nankervis found the back of the net for the Green & White.
The Spartans held Wagner scoreless in the second quarter and added two more SJSU goals to extend its lead 5-2 at the end of the first half.

Jacqui Sjogren each rallied off one goal apiece, giving the Spartans just a one goal advantage over the Green & White, 7-6.
The fourth period was scoreless for both teams, which allowed SJSU to hold on to its one goal lead and secure the victory with a final score of 7-6.
Wagner is back in action on March 10-11 when they begin MAAC play in Loudonville, NY against La Salle University, Siena College, and Virginia Military Institute.
