New Rochelle, NY – The Wagner women's water polo team travels to New Rochelle, NY this weekend for its second weekend of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play as the No. 18-ranked Seahawks are scheduled to play St. Francis Brooklyn at 9:00 a.m., before taking on No. 24 Marist at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, the Green & White will square off against the host Gaels at 9:00 a.m., before facing Villanova at 3:00 p.m.
Following a weekend off, senior utility
Kimberly Watson, a three-time MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, remains atop the NCAA Division I leader board in both goals (61) and points (92). Junior attack
Erica Hardy leads the conference in assists with 34 on the year. Senior attack
Lacey Anderson will look to set a career milestone, as she enters play with 198 steals and will look to become just the sixth Seahawk in program history to register 200 or more steals.
About St. Francis Brooklyn:
The Terriers are in eighth place in the MAAC standings with a record of 2-11 and winless in conference tilts, having dropped its last seven matches.
About Marist:
At the conclusion of the Wagner-St. Francis Brooklyn match, the Green & White will turn its attention to No. 24-ranked Marist. The Red Foxes sport an 11-14 overall record and are undefeated in league play at 4-0 thus far, tied for the league lead with Wagner.
About Iona:
The Gaels enter the weekend with a 5-18 mark record while sitting alone in third place in the league standings at 2-1. The lone conference setback came against Marist, falling 7-5.
About Villanova:
The Wildcats (3-11; 1-2) remain in sixth place in the conference, after defeating St. Francis Brooklyn, 12-7, before falling to the Siena Saints (10-9) and the Iona Gaels (17-7) on March 11.
