No. 12 Women's Water Polo Finishes Princeton Invite 3-0 With Pair of Wins Over George Washington and Bucknell

Princeton, NJ – The Wagner women's water polo team closed out the Princeton Invite with a pair of wins over George Washington (13-6) and Bucknell (11-5), advancing its winning streak to seven.
 
Game 1: Wagner 13, GW 6:

Sophomore attack Jacqui Sjogren came out firing against the Colonials with a hat trick in the first quarter, giving the Seahawks the edge 3-2 after the first eight minutes of play. 

The Green & White advanced its lead in the second stanza with two goals from senior utility Kimberly Watson, while junior attack Erica Hardy, freshman utility Kristy Donkin, and sophomore attack Franciska Milo-Sidlo contributed one goal apiece, giving Wagner a 8-3 lead at the conclusion of the first half.
 
Entering the second half, Watson rallied off two more goals to complete her hat trick, while Donkin added another goal as the Seahawk offense began to take over with an 11-5 lead heading into the fourth and final period.  

In the fourth quarter, Watson and Hardy added two insurance goals and helped the Seahawks secure the 13-6 win over the Colonials. Freshman goalie Katherine Campbell was a defensive force, compiling six saves for the Green & White.

Game 2: Wagner 11, Bucknell 5:

It was the senior captains in Elise Begg and Watson who netted a pair of goals as Wagner held a 2-1 lead after the first period.  Four Seahawks then scored in the second quarter, as Watson (2), Hardy, Milo-Sidlo, and Begg each found the back of the net.

The Green & White took over defensively in the second half, holding the Bison scoreless in the final 16 minutes of play, while Watson and Hardy each completed hat tricks. Watson finished the game with four goals, Hardy tallied three, Begg had two, and Sjogren and Milo-Sidlo each has one apiece to give Wagner a convincing 11-5 victory. 

Next up, the Seahawks (7-3) will host No. 14 Hartwick College for a single-game matchup on Grymes Hill on February 24 at 11:00 a.m.
