Full Team and Individual Results from All Divisions
Tempe, AZ - The Wagner College triathlon team wrapped up its inaugural season on Sunday as one of the nation's top four Division I teams at the 2018 USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship on Sunday held at Tempe Town Lake.
Graduate student
Fabia Maramotti was the top Seahawk finisher as her time of 1:08:44 placed her in 12
th place. Freshman
Yasmin Rieger came in 16
th place (1:12:18), fellow frosh
Anna Carrion i Barea was 18
th (1:14:18), followed by graduate student
Maddie McNichol in 20
th (1:17:51), and freshman
Kabrina Weaver in 21
st (1:18:02). Junior
Emily Upton also started in the race for the Seahawks but was one of the several competitors who was lapped out in the second loop of the bike.
Qualifying for the Nationals, and competing as one of the nation's elite programs, was the fourth and final event for the Seahawks this fall.
"We had an outstanding inaugural season that has set us up well for years to come!," exclaimed head coach
Maurya Couvares. "I couldn't be prouder of our student-athletes."
Arizona State, for the third consecutive year and second straight year in its hometown, earned the national championship, followed by the University of South Dakota, East Tennessee State, and Wagner.
