Last Time Out For Wagner...
- Despite two Wagner players hitting for double figures, the Seahawks dropped a 66-43 decision in its home opener to the Lafayette College Leopards on Saturday afternoon from the Spiro Sports Center.
- Freshman forward Emilija Krista Grava led the way for the Green & White, scoring a team-best 12 points on 6-of-12 shooting in 22 minutes due to early foul trouble. For Krista Grava, it marks her fourth straight game scoring in double digits, following a pair of 15 point performances in the first two games (at Seton Hall and Fordham) and most recently, a season-high 18 points at Longwood.
- Redshirt sophomore Taylah Simmons chipped in ten points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds.
- Lafayette was led by Natalie Kucowski, who netted a game-best 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the floor while also pulling down a game-high 17 rebounds. In-Season Tournament Wagner Record...
- Wagner is playing in its first in-season tournament since the 2013-14 season, when the Seahawks took on Eastern Michigan and Stony Brook in the Seawolves Holiday Classic at Stony Brook. The last time Wagner was victorious in an in-season tournament came during the 2010-11 season, capturing the Blue Sky Classic, hosted by Dartmouth College, when the Green & White defeated Vermont, 68-40, and the host, Big Green, 69-52.
- The most wins Wagner has recorded in an in-season tournament is four, which the Green & White accomplished back in 1983-84. In that season, the Seahawks, who hosted its then-annual Wagner Christmas Tournament, defeated fellow NEC-rival, St. Francis Brooklyn, 77-48, before besting Rider, 64-50.
- Wagner then traveled to Cornell's tournament, defeating the Big Red, 75-57, before the tournament championship with a 66-63 victory over Army West Point Black Knights.
