New Rochelle, NY – The Wagner College swimming and diving team opened its 2018-2019 campaign with three dominant victories at the Iona Quad, sweeping the competition for the second consecutive season.
The Seahawks swam past the Gaels 131.00 – 106.00, while also earning victories over Northeast Conference (NEC) rivals Sacred Heart (151.00 – 92.00) and St. Francis Brooklyn (151.00 – 92.00).
Wagner started the competition strongly, with sophomores

Dorian McMenemy won the 400 Medley Relay in 4:00.21.
Junior
Makenna Depuydt, senior
Andrea Gustafsson, freshman
Mary Tsianaka, and McMenemy later combined for a first-place finish in the 400 Free Relay in 3:34.97.
Kivanc took home two individual victories, taking the top spot in the 200 IM (2:11.40) ahead of Spike (2:13.13), while also touching first in the 200 Back (2:09.27), with Spike coming in third place (2:11.56).
Depuydt collected valuable points in the long distance races, finishing second in the 1000 Free (10:55.45) and third in the 500 Free (5:14.88).
In the 200 Breast, junior
Jenna D'Allegro took second place in 2:28.88, one spot ahead of her sister Michelle, who finished third in 2:29.63.
McMenemy rounded out her successful start to the season with a third-place finish in the 50 Free in 24.63.
On the diving board, senior
Adrianna Warning won both boards for the second year in a row. One year after setting the school record on the 3-meter board, Warning earned 246.65 points in the 3-meter competition and 212.25 points on the 1-meter board to start her season with two victories.
Freshman
Maggie Gregory rounded out the box score with a third-place finish on the 1-meter board with 186.35 points.
The Seahawks are next in action on October 27, when they welcome NEC rival Saint Francis U to the Spiro Sports Center, starting at 11:00 AM.
