Princeton, NJ – The Wagner men's tennis team dropped its first match of the 2017-18 season, falling to Ivy League members, Princeton, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon from Jadwin Gym.
With the loss, the Seahawk fall to 3-1 in dual matches on the season while the Tigers remain undefeated, improving to 2-0, after earning a 5-2 victory over Big Ten members, Michigan State, earlier in the morning.
The Green & White were swept in doubles play despite putting forth a valiant effort in each match.
The lone victory of the match came at No. 6 singles play as senior
Charlton Boyd, who is ranked No. 104 by Oracle/International Tennis Association (ITA), defeated Noah Agarwal, 6-3; 6-3, at No. 6 singles play. For Boyd, it marked his 60th career singles victory (60-23) while running his season record to 12-2 on the season and 4-0 in dual match play.
Wagner returns to action on February 9 as they make the short commute to Queens as they take on Big East members, the St. John's Red Storm.
