Lewisburg, PA – The Wagner men's water polo team is set to compete this weekend at the Bison Invitational, hosted by Bucknell University.
On Saturday, September 16, the Seahawks will square off against Mercyhurst University at 9:15 a.m. before concluding the day with a 3:30 p.m. matchup with Gannon University.
On the final day of the two-day invitational on Sunday, September 17, Wagner and the University of Toronto will meet at 10:30 a.m. before the Seahawks take on Salem International University at 4:45 p.m.
Focused Seahawks:
The Green & White ended the Princeton Invite last weekend with a 2-1 mark after going 1-1 on the final day. Wagner defeated Chapman University, 14-12 in the early morning contest before falling to Brown, 15-9. Freshman driver

Cameron Woldt (San Diego, CA / Serra High School [San Diego Mesa College]) has been a force in the net for Wagner and ranked No. 2 in the NEC with 37 saves.
Previewing Mercyhurst:
Mercyhurst enters the Bison Invitational with a 1-1-0 record on the season. The Lakers suffered their lone defeat of the season when they played Salem International University back on September 10 at the Lakers Invitational.
In last week's 10-5 victory over Penn State Behrend, Philip Jenny led the way, netting nine of the Lakers' ten goals.
Examining Gannon:
Gannon will begin the weekend competition with a 1-2-0 record. The Golden Knights fell to both Johns Hopkins (12-11) and Fordham (11-7) at the Navy Open on September 2 before earning their first victory of the season, edging out Iona, 6-4, on the final day. Gilberto Millan contributed in the Golden Knights first win of the season, notching his 128th career goal, eighth-most in school history. Zarko Sadikovic played a key role in the win for Gannon after nailing a go-ahead goal in the final period with under six minutes of play remaining.
Sizing Up Toronto:
The University of Toronto will compete in its first official matches of the 2017 season, after going 2-2 in exhibition play at the Laker Invitational. The Blue and White prevailed over Lindenwood University (11-10) and Penn State Behrend (16-11), but were edged by Salem International, 11-10, and dropped a four-goal defeat to Gannon, 16-12.
A Look At Salem International:
Salem International arrives in Lewisburg with an overall record of 2-3-0. In their most recent contest, the Tigers defeated Mercyhurst, 13-6, with Djordje Stavrevski scoring four goals and adding an assist in the victory.
Up Next For Wagner:
Following the conclusion of the Bison Invitational, the Seahawks will head to New Rochelle, NY to tangle with the Iona College Gaels on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.
