Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team earned a split with Bryant on Sunday afternoon against the visiting Bryant Bulldogs to finish the weekend 3-1 after yesterday's sweep against Fairleigh Dickinson as the Seahawks improve to 4-2 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play.
The Green & White earned 3-0 wire-to-wire victory in game one, before falling by a score of 4-1 game two.

The Seahawks got on the board early and never looked back.
After sophomore
Karen Prihoda (Hamilton Square, NJ / The Lawrenceville School) led the game off with a double, freshman
Zoe Bender (Glen Rock, NJ / Glen Rock) followed with a single to left to put runners on second and third. During the ensuing at bat, a fielding error at first base allowed junior
Stefanie Aplin (Nesconset, NY / Smithtown East / Georgian Court University) to reach and Prihoda to score. Next up, senior
Brianna Tredway (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown West) flied out to left, bringing home Bender from third to give the Seahawks a 2-0 lead.
In the fourth, the Green and White tacked on an insurance run, when back-to-back doubles by freshmen
Kaila Smith (Millville, NJ / Millville) and Amelia van Orman (Orange, CA / Lutheran High School of Orange County) set up an RBI groundout by first-year Seahawk
Alyssa Tucker (Laguna Niguel, CA / Santa Margarita Catholic).

Morgan Brown (Buckeye, AZ / Verrado) pitched five solid innings to follow up her 10-strikeout performance yesterday, allowing just four hits while striking out five to move to 7-4 on the season. Senior
McKaleigh Goodale (Bradenton, FL / Lakewood Ranch) earned the save, throwing two dominant innings in allowing no hits while getting four out of six batters out on strikes.
The Seahawks outhit the Bulldogs 7-4 in game one, as Smith led the way with two base hits.
Game 2 Recap: Bryant 4, Wagner 1
Despite getting one more hit than earlier in the afternoon, the Green and White only mustered one run while leaving nine runners on base.
The Seahawks opened the scoring in the third, as a single by Tredway and a walk to Smith were followed by a Van Orman RBI single to center field, giving Wagner the 1-0 advantage.
The lead did not last long, as Bryant countered with one run apiece in the fourth and fifth and extended its lead with two runs in the sixth for the 4-1 lead. Robyn Ukegawa led the visitors with two RBIs.
Both teams tied with eight hits each throughout the contest, as Van Orman and Aplin led the Seahawks with two hits each.
Goodale suffered the loss, striking out two through seven innings.
The Seahawks are back in action on Tuesday, as they host Saint Peter's in a non-conference doubleheader, starting at 2:00 pm.
