New Britain, CT – The Wagner women's lacrosse team broke open a 4-4 game by closing the first half with five unanswered goals and never looked back en route posting a its fourth straight win, an 18-11 decision at Central Connecticut, as the Seahawks clinch a berth in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament.
With the victory, the Green & White are now 4-2 in NEC play, 6-10 overall and will close the regular season on Sunday at first-place Bryant in a 1:00 p.m. start. With the loss, the Blue Devils fall to 2-4 in NEC play and 3-12 overall.
Sophomore attacker
Anna Belle Reilly (Paradise Valley, AZ / Notre Dame Prep) poured in a career-high five goals while junior attacker
Heidi Colford (Eden Praire, MN / Eden Praire) and sophomore attacker
Marjorie Dehm (Baldwinsville, NY / C.W. Baker / Vermont) each added a hat trick in Wagner's season-high output of the season.
Junior
Kelsey Fee (White Plains, NY / White Plains / Ithaca) recorded seven saves in goal over the game's first 43:31 in notching the win before junior
Lucy Darlington (Timonium, MD / Notre Dame Preparatory) came on to record three saves over the final 16:29.
Marissa Soto paced CCSU with four goals.
