Brooklyn, NY - Behind a stellar pitching performance from senior co-captain
Danny Marsh (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township), the Wagner College baseball team earned its first Northeast Conference (NEC) win of the season, blanking the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights, 3-0, in the series finale on Saturday evening at MCU Park.
Marsh had a tremendous outing in securing his third win of the season, going the distance for his first career complete game shutout, highlighted by a career-high nine strikeouts. The 6-0, 205-pound righthander scattered five hits while walking three.
At the plate, the key blow came came off the bat of sophomore 1B
Phil Capra (North Salem, NY/North Salem), who connected on his second home run of the season while going 1-for-3 in the contest. Junior OF

Freddy Sabido (Staten Island, NY/Susan E. Wagner [Saint Louis Univ.]), and sophomore catcher
James Wise (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville), each had a hit on the evening for the Seahawks.
The Green & White struck for the game's only runs in the bottom of the third. Wise sent a single to left and Cala was walked on five pitches. With two outs and the count at 3-1, Capra took FDU's starter, Corey Zeller deep over the right field wall.
Marsh continued his dominance on the hill. In the ninth. After walking the leadoff hitter, Ryan Brennan, Marsh got the final two outs of the game on a game-ending double play when he snared an Owen Vonesslinger line drive before firing to first in doubling up Evan McDonald for the game's final outs and earning the complete game win.
The Seahawks are next scheduled to play Big East member St. John's on Wednesday, March 29.
