No. 19 Women's Water Polo To Compete In Aztec Invitational

San Diego, CA - The Wagner women's water polo team travels to San Diego, CA for the Aztec Invitational March 10-11 hosted by San Diego State University. The Green & White will play a total of four games over the weekend, beginning with Whittier College on Saturday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. PST (1:30 p.m. EST).

Wagner-Whittier Matchup
Saturday's matchup is the first meeting between the two programs since 2015 when Wagner defeated the Poets, 15-8 on March 12. The victory marked seventh-year head coach Chris Radmonovich's 99th career win. Currently, Whittier is 7-5 on the season with notable wins against fellow Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference members Siena and St. Francis Brooklyn.

Wagner-Rest of Tournament Field
Following the Whittier contest, the Seahawks, who are 6-9 on the season, are set to face three nationally-ranked opponents in No. 12 San Jose State University, No. 16 University of California-San Diego and No. 23 California State University, Bakersfield. Last season, the Green & White split the two meetings with the Roadrunners, taking the last meeting, 13-8 on March 12 when junior attacker Lacey Anderson (Thousand Oaks, CA/Westlake) notched a hat trick and added two steals in the victory.

Wagner is coming off a 2-2 performance at the Harvard Invitational last weekend, capping off the tournament with a come-from-behind 4-3 triumph over the Crimson. Freshman center Millie Pullyblank (Victoria, Australia / Haileybury Girls College) buried the go-ahead goal with 20 seconds remaining in the contest off an assist from sophomore attack Erica Hardy (Montreal, Quebec / St. Thomas).

Hardy, the newly-minted MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, registered 2 points on ten goals and two assists. The sophomore standout netted six markers alone in a 15-4 victory over Toronto, the highest number of goals scored in a single game by a Seahawk this season.

Seahawks In The Poll
The Seahawks enter the weekend ranked No. 19 in the weekly Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 25 Poll, moving up two spots from No. 21 where they were the previous three weeks.
