Philadelphia, PA - Despite taking two out of three matches in the doubles competition, the Wagner men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Drexel in Philadelphia on Sunday.

With the setback, the Seahawks fall to 6-5 on the year while the Dragons improve to 8-3.

The duo of Ilya Kneppelhout (
Woubrugge, Netherlands / Scala College Secondary School) and junior Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) was able to defeat Hamza Laalej and Youssef Lahlou by a 6-1 tally. Sophomore Eric Poland (Fort Meyers, FL/Bishop Verot) and newcomer Dylan Walters (Johannesburg, South Africa / St Stithians Boys' College) secured the doubles point, besting Balaji Lakshmanan and Alex Zenonos, 6-4.

In singles competition, Drexel took five of the six matches to secure the overall win. The Green and White's lone victory came at No. 6 play as Boyd earned his 44th career, defeating Vuk Subotic, 8-2.

The Green & White are back in action on March 4 as they make the short trip to neighbor, the College of Staten Island Dolphins. The match kicks off at 5:30 p.m.
