Hempstead, NY – The defending Northeast Conference (NEC) champion Wagner women's lacrosse team travels to Hofstra University for its 2017 road opener on Tuesday, matching up with the Pride in a 2:00 p.m. start.
 
The Green & White enter the day at 0-1 as the Seahawks' valiant comeback came up short in a 12-10 loss to Iona in last Friday's opener while Hofstra is 1-0 following a season-opening 15-5 win over Bucknell.

After falling behind by an early 5-0 count in last week's lid-lifter, the offensive catalyst for the Seahawks was sophomore attacker Anna Belle Reilly (Paradise Valley, AZ / Notre Dame Prep), who poured in a career-high four goals on the afternoon in her first career start.

Junior attacker Heidi Colford (Eden Praire, MN  Eden Praire) added two goals, both on free position shots, while four different Seahawks hit for one goal each in junior midfielder Lauren Ednie (Verona, NJ / Verona), sophomore attacker Marjorie Dehm, (Baldwinsville, NY / C.W. Baker), junior midfielder April Simmons (Branford, CT / Brandford), and freshman attacker Stephanie Falcone (Orefield, PA / Perkiomen School). Ednie led in draw controls with six.
 
Following the meeting with Hofstra, Wagner travels to Lewisburg, PA to meet Bucknell on February 25 in a 4:30 p.m. contest vs. the Bison.
