Staten Island, NY
Ciaran Wolohan (Manly, Australia / St. Aloysius), the lone senior on the Wagner men's water polo team, scored five goals to lead the Seahawks to a 21-8  Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) win over Johns Hopkins this afternoon on Senior Day.

After being honored in a pre-game ceremony, Wolohan, a 2016 First-Team All-MAWPC performer, took center stage in the pool as well, helping Wagner close out the regular season with an overall record of 12-16, including a 5-5 mark in conference play. With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 15-14 overall, 1-8 in league. The win gives the Seahawks a sweep of the season series as Wagner earned a 20-12 victory over Hopkins in Baltimore, MD back on September 30.

The first quarter was a back in forth affair with the Blue Jays delivering the first score of the game at the 6:36 minute mark. The Green & White responded less than 20 seconds later with a man-up goal by junior Devin O'Donnell (Pointe-Claire, Quebec / Selwyn). The teams then traded goals until a strike by sophomore driver Matthew Miller (San Ramon, CA / California High) gave the Seahawks the lead for good at 4-3, as the Green & White outscored Hopkins 17-5 the rest of the way to win going away.

Wagner tallied five goals in the second quarter, two each from Wolohan and freshman Jasmin Kolasinac (Belgrade, Serbia / King's College), with junior James Grady (Boca Rotan, FL / Boca Rotan) chipping in as well, en route to building a 9-6 halftme lead.

The Green & White then stretched by outscoring the Blue Jays 6-1 in each of the third and fourth quarters

Junior Cameron Woldt (San Diego, CA / Serra High School) stood big in the cage, amassing 14 saves on the day.

Wagner will next compete in the MAWPC Championships, which will be hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD November 17-19. The Seahawks have earned the No. 4 seed in the Championships and will open play on Friday vs. No. 5-seed Navy. For further information on the MAWPC Championships, log on to collegiatewaterpolo.org.
