Sierra Clark (Hughesville, MD / Archbishop Spalding) tossed in 13 points, while senior guard
Tanasia Russell (Vineland, NJ / Vineland) and freshman guard
Khaleah Dixon-Edwards (London, England / City of London Academy, came off the bench to record 12 and 10 points, respectively, and the Wagner women's basketball team led most of the way before the University of New Hampshire rallied for a 65-53 win.
In dropping their first home game this season at the Spiro Sports Center, the Seahawks fall to 0-4, while the Wildcats improve to 2-1.
UNH was led by 17 points each from center Carlie Pugue and forward Olivia Healey.
Wagner's biggest lead of the game was five, which occurred on two occasions, the last at the 6:36 mark of the second quarter when the Seahawks took a 20-15 lead on a Russell layup en route to seizing a 34-31 halftime lead. Wagner led 45-43 entering the fourth quarter before the Wildcats opened the final frame on a 14-3 burst in building a 59-48 lead on their way to the 65-53 win.
Wagner is back at it on Monday, November 20 when the Seahawks make the short trip to the College of Staten Island (CS) to meet the Dolphins in a 7:00 p.m. tip, which will be followed by a contest at UAlbany on Wednesday, November 22, also a 7:00 p.m. start.
