Santa Clara, CA - The Wagner men's water polo team was defeated by Santa Clara University on Saturday morning 15-9, before falling to No. 9 UC Davis to conclude the first day of the Julian Fraser Memorial Invitational, held at the Sullivan Aquatic Center.

In the first matchup of the day, the Seahawks (9-13; 3-3 MAWPC) were defeated by Santa Clara (6-10; 1-2 WCC) 15-9. The Broncos took a 10-3 lead at the half. The Green & White offense was led by senior
Ciaran Wolohan (Manly, Australia / St. Aloysius College [Golden West College]) who registered a hat trick in the loss.
Freshman
Jack Leighton added two goals of his own and also won all four sprints to start each of the four quarters. Sophomore
Oscar Nomura (Irvine, CA / Irvine), freshman
Jasmin Kolasinac (Belgrade, Serbia / King's College), freshman
Benjamin Angulo (La Habra, California / Sonora), and junior
James Grady (Boca Raton, FL / Boca Raton) all added one goal apiece.

The first period was evenly matched, as the Aggies (14-5; 4-0 WWPA) led the Seahawks 4-3 entering the second period. Kolasinac, Wolohan, and junior
Teo Dadic (Dubrovnik, Croatia / Gimnazija Dubrovnik [Long Beach City College]) netted the first three goals for the Green & White.
Sophomore
Matthew Miller (San Ramon, CA / California High) and Dadic each added one goal apiece in the third stanza. Wolohan added two more goals, one in each the third and fourth quarters.
Wagner will conclude the final day of the two day Julian Fraser Memorial Invitational on Sunday, October 22, first against No. 11 San Jose State Spartans at 9:00 a.m. (PST) before their final matchup of the weekend at 2:20 p.m. (PST) vs. Fresno Pacific.
