Stanford / Santa Clara, CA – The Wagner men's water polo team heads out to the West Coast this weekend for a total of five matches, beginning on Friday, October 20, against No. 4 ranked, Stanford University Cardinal. Following Friday's contest, the Seahawks will compete at the Julian Fraser Memorial Invitational in Santa Clara, CA on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22.
On Saturday, the Green & White will square off against Santa Clara University at 9:00 a.m. (PST) before the Seahawks face the No. 9 ranked UC Davis at 5:00 p.m. (PST). On Sunday for the final day of the two-day invitational, Wagner will meet their third ranked opponent in the No. 11 San Jose State Spartans and end their West Coast voyage against Fresno Pacific.
A Look At Wagner:
The Seahawks (9-11;3-3 MAWPC) will look to halt a six-game losing streak when they tackle five opponents on the West Coast this weekend. Freshman
Jasmin Kolasinac (Belgrade, Serbia/King's College) is currently the nation's leading scorer with 68 markers in his first season. Among members of the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference, the Seahawks occupy the top goal leaders spots with Kolasinac pacing the circuit with 19 goals. Junior
Teo Dadic (Dubrovnik, Croatia / Gimnazija Dubrovnik Long Beach City College) ranks second with 12 goals, while freshman
Jack Leighton (Lake Forest, CA / El Toro) has tallied 11.

Cameron Woldt (San Diego, CA / Serra High School [San Diego Mesa College]) has recorded 93 total saves on the year, ranking second in the MAWPC behind John Wilson of Johns Hopkins (266).

Previewing No. 4 Stanford Cardinal:
Stanford (9-3; 0-1 PAC-12) enters Friday's contest looking to continues its winning streak, which currently is at three after Stanford defeated No. 8 UC Santa Barbara, 11-5, on October 14. Ben Hallock and Blake Parrish have combined to score 58 goals on the season with Hallock leading the Cardinal offense with 32 tallies.
In the cage, Drew Holland has 97 saves this year and increase his all-time leading saves total to 838.
Examining Santa Clara:
Santa Clara (4-8; 0-2 WCC) will have home pool advantage this weekend as they host the Julian Fraser Memorial. The Broncos have dropped their last six matchups, which included an 11-5 setback to UC Davis on October 14. Goalkeeper Emil Huebner has tallied 77 blocks in the cage for the Broncos while John Raineri paces the squad with 15 goals on the year.
Sizing Up No. 9 UC Davis:
University of California Davis (12-5; 4-0 WWPA) currently ranks No. 9 in the nation. Colter Knight has won 13 sprints while Ido Goldschmidt is the team's top scorer with 34 goals to his credit in 17 games played.
A Look At No. 11 San Jose State University:
The Spartans (9-8;1-3 GCC) split their last two swim-offs, edging out No. 8 UC- Santa Barbara, 7-6, on October 13 before dropping a 20-6 decision at California. Jacob Mercep ranks third on the nation's goal-scoring list with 59, while Ben Hauschild has dished out a team-leading 17 helpers.
Eyeing Fresno Pacific:
Fresno Pacific heads into the weekend at 4-11 and is winless in Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) play (0-4). The Sunbirds dropped a close, 7-6, decision against Concordia on October 14 despite getting a pair of goals from Erik Brown. Kyle Eoff leads the team with 25 goals while Josh Ramage has recorded 123 saves on the season.

Wagner returns to the East Coast and will host three straight MAWPC league contests, beginning on November 1 against Fordham before closing out the regular season against George Washington and Johns Hopkins on November 4 and 5.
