Cambridge, MA – The Wagner men's water polo team battled No. 12 St. Francis Brooklyn before falling by a count of 12-10 to conclude the second and final day of play at the Harvard Invite on Sunday.
The Seahawks (9-10) and Terriers (9-5) were neck and neck, remaining tied at the end of each period, until SFBK was able to tally a pair of late goals to eke out the win.
The Green & White offense was led by rookie
Jasmin Kolasinac (Belgrade, Serbia / Kings College), who registered a hat trick in the contest. Junior
Teo Dadic (Dubrovnik, Croatia / Gimnazija Dubrovnik [Long Beach City College]) and sophomore
Oscar Nomura (Irvine, CA / Irvine) notched two goals apiece, while senior
Ciaran Wolohan (Manly, Australia / St. Aloysius College [Golden West College]), junior
Devin O'Donnell (Pointe-Claire, Quebec / Selwyn [San Diego Mesa College]), and rookie
Jack Leighton (Lake Forest, CA / El Toro) added one goal each.
Kolasinac found the back of the cage with just two minutes left in the final quarter, evening the score at a count of 10-10. However, goals from Tucker Angelo and Alexander Teplitsky in the final moments of play secured the win for the Terriers with a final score of 12-10.
Wagner will look to bounce back on Wednesday, October 18 at Fordham University in a 7:30 p.m. start.
