Moon Township, PA – In a three-way tie for first place in the Northeast Conference (NEC) standings heading into the final weekend of regular season play, the Wagner women's lacrosse team is at Robert Morris today in a 3:00 p.m. matchup before moving on to Saint Francis U to meet the Red Flash on Sunday in a 1:00 p.m. start.
Entering today's play, Wagner, Robert Morris and Bryant sit atop the league standing with identical 4-1 records. The top four finishers in the NEC qualify for the NEC Tournament. In each of the last two years, Wagner earned a spot in the NEC Tourney, losing at Bryant in the championship game both times
Senior midfielder
Shea Gegan (Belmar, NJ / Manasquan), who recently became the NCAA's all-time Division I career leader in caused turnovers, came up with another five CT's vs. the Mount, to go along with two goals, on three shots, and four assists, while adding a game-high eight groundballs and three draw controls.
The 2015 NEC Midfielder of the Year entered the Mount game with 208 caused turnovers in her career. The previous record of 204 career caused turnovers was set 12 years ago and held by Michi Ellers of Georgetown, whose career spanned from 2001-04. After forcing five caused turnovers today, Gegan is now up to 213 for her career. (Note: This statistic was first codified as such in 1998, but was known before that year as interceptions and blocks).
In 2016, Gegan is the Seahawk's team leader in goals (25), assists (14), points (39), groundballs (27), draw controls (25) and caused turnovers (34). In the NEC, Gegan ranks second in caused turnovers/game (2.79), assists/game (1.36) and points per game (3.57), fifth in groundballs/game (2.50) and sixth in goals/game (2.21).
In addition to earning her fourth of the season, and third straight, this marks the 14th time in her illustrious career that Gegan has earned an NEC weekly honor.

Kimmy Tumolo (Mullica Hill, NJ / Clearview Regional) scored a career-high four goals vs. the Mount while fellow senior attacker
Taylor Pastore (Baldwinsville, NY / C.W. Baker) and junior attacker
Olivia Streilein (Mt. Laurel,, NJ/ Lenape) each added hat tricks.
Goalie
Katie Ferraro (Owings Mill, MD / McDonogh) has been sharp in net for the Seahawks. For the season, the senior boasts a goals against average of 8.49, to go with 73 saves and a save percentage of .468.
