Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's lacrosse team guns for its third straight win on Saturday when the Seahawks host Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Mount St. Mary's in a Senior Day showdown with opening draw set for 1:00 p.m. at Hameline Field.
Prior to the game, the 10 Seahawk seniors will be recognized in a brief ceremony. In addition to helping Wagner advance to the NEC Championship Game in each of the last two seasons, these 10 student-athletes own a collective GPA of 3.41.
Wagner enters Saturday's contest in a three-way tie for first place in the
NEC standings, as the Seahawks, Bryant and Robert Morris, enter weekend play with identical 3-1 league records. Overall, the Green & White are 5-8 on the season while the Mountaineers enter the contest in a tie for fourth place in the league standings at 2-2. For the season, the Mount own a record of 4-10.
The Seahawks are led by senior midfielder
Shea Gegan (Belmar, NJ/ Manasquan), who is the team leader in goals (29), assists (15), points (44), groundballs (27 – tied with freshman
Madeline Courtney [Columbia, MD / Marriots Ridge]), draw controls (29) and caused turnovers (35).

Gegan recently reached a major milestone as she is now the NCAA Division I women's lacrosse all-time career leader in caused turnovers. The 2015 NEC Midfielder of the Year and reigning and the
conference's reigning Player of the Week enters the Mount game with 208 caused turnovers in her career. The previous record of 204 career caused turnovers was set 12 years ago and held by Michi Ellers of Georgetown, whose career spanned from 2001-04.
(Note: This statistic was first codified as such in 1998, but was known before that year as interceptions and blocks).
Senior attackers
Kimmy Tumolo (Mullica Hill, NJ / Clearview Regional) and
Tori McGrath (Delmar, NY/ Bethlehem Central) are Wagner's second and third-leading scorers with 21 and 18 points, respectively.
Senior goalie
Katie Ferraro (Owings Mill, MD / McDonogh), the
reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Week, ranks No. 2 in the NEC in both goals against average (8.67) and save percentage (.477).
