ResultsStaten Island, NY – The Wagner men's tennis team earned its 11th victory of the season, and third straight, in cruising to a 7-0 victory over the visiting University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) Hawks on Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman
Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) picked up his team-leading 18th individual win while improving to 13-5 in dual matches this season, as he defeated Michael Cha 6-0, 6-0.
Newcomer
Jakob Mostyn-Kolb (Melbourne, FL/Melbourne) blanked Nicholas Brobst in straight sets for his second win of the season while sophomore
Sam Flaxman (Avon, CT/Avon) improved to 7-3 on the year following a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Edwin Kanu. In the final singles match of the day, freshman
Jeremy Nuss (Portland, OR/Lincoln) remained undefeated on the season in dual matches (4-0) as he routed Devin Outten, 6-0; 6-0.
Wagner was awarded default wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, as well as at second doubles.
Wang/Mostyn-Kolb defeated the pairing of Cha/Brobst, 8-1 in No. 1 doubles while Flaxman and Nuss prevailed over Outten/Kanu; 8-0.
Wagner returns to the courts on April 10 as when the Seahawls travel to Smithfield, RI to take on Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Bryant University.
