Championships HeadquartersTicketsStaten Island, NY – The #19 Wagner (23-8, 10-2 MAAC) women's water polo team begins its title defense as they are set to compete against Iona (21-14, 7-5 MAAC) on Saturday, April 25 at noon in the opening semifinal round of the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC)

The 2015 MAAC Championships will be held in Poughkeepsie, NY on the campus of Marist College.
The Seahawks,
2014 MAAC regular and postseason champions, were awarded the #2 seed in the conference after compiling a 10-2 league mark as Iona captured the #3 seed with a MAAC record of 7-5. The Green & White and the Gaels squared-off in two regular season meetings with the Seahawks claiming victory in both contests by a count of 14-8 and 19-5.
The overall #1 seed Marist (19-13, 11-1 MAAC) is slated to face #4 seed Villanova (19-14, 7-5 MAAC) in the second semifinal which will take place on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m.
Wagner has been led by a potent offensive attack in conference play, posting a goals per game average of 15.08. Junior center
Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Mountain Creek) has been a dominant force on both ends of the pool as the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Year has been selected as the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week six times this season. Lundgren leads the conference in points and goals with 80 and 52 respectively in MAAC only games.
Joining Lundgren on the MAAC leaderboard for points is junior attacker
Megan Rodriguez (Danville, CA/ San Ramon Valley) who accumulated 56 points for third, senior attacker
Jessica Burdge (Stockton, CA/ St. Mary's) who slotted fourth with 44 points, and freshman
Elise Begg (Newbury Park, CA. Newbury) who tied for eighth with 35 points.
Scouting IonaThe Gaels offense is led by freshman Hannah Schultz who has found the back of the net for 110 goals on the season with 38 of the scores coming in conference games. Schultz ranks third in conference-only games for goals and fifth in points with 43. The Illinois native has earned MAAC Rookie of the Week on four occasions while garnering MAAC Offensive Player of the Week once this season.
Iona goalie Dana Delucchi ranks sixth in saves in conference-only games with 47 while earning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week once this season.
