Men's Tennis Blanked At Stony Brook On Tuesday Afternoon

Results

Stony Brook, NY – The Wagner men's tennis team fell to the Stony Brook University Seawolves, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the University Tennis Courts in a non-conference matchup.

The Seahawks (8-9) dropped two of the three doubles matches despite a valiant effort from freshmen Michal Rolski (Kielczow, Poland/ Oak Meadow [VT]) and Juan Alanis (Mexico City, Mexico/K12 International Academy) in #1 Doubles as the pair couldn't complete the comeback attempt, falling to Stony Brook's duo of Jose Morales and Alex Felisa, 8-5.

Wagner dropped an 8-1 decision in #3 Doubles but was leading in #2 Doubles as the tandem of Ryan Khan (Weston, FL/University School) and Charlton Boyd (Shreveport, LA/Loyola College Prep) held a 7-4 lead over Tyler Hoffman and Vinicius Degani as the match went unfinished.

The Seahawks suffered straight-set defeats in #3, #4 and #6 singles matches on the afternoon. Khan and Boyd managed to force their matches into a tiebreaker but were eventually defeated by the score of 10-7.

Wagner is back on the courts Friday, April 3, as the Green & White host Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) member, Coppin State.
