Hamilton, NY- The Wagner College men's tennis team couldn't complete the comeback as they were edged by the Colgate University Raiders, 4-3, on Saturday in Hamilton, NY.

Michal Rolski along with newcomer
Juan Alanis, defeated the pair of Alan Pleat and Nick Laub, 6-5 (6-0) to secure the lone doubles victory. Colgate took Doubles #1 and #3 by a 6-3 and 6-1 score, respectively, to secure the first overall point of the match.
Laub gave Colgate a 2-0 match lead after he was able to defeat
Allen Wang, 6-0; 6-2. Alanis picked up his first collegiate singles win, defeating Bobby Alter, 1-6, 6-4 and 6-0 to give the Seahawks their first point in the match. Rolski remained undefeated out of the #1 singles spot, defeating his opponent, Jacob Daugherty, 7-6 (3-0), 6-3 to tie the match at two wins apiece.
Charlton Boyd edged out Tom Gaile, 2-6, 6-3 and 6-2 to give Wagner their third win of the match before Alan Pleat was able to get past
Ryan Khan, 7-6 (5-0), 4-6, 6-0 in #2 singles tying the match at 3 wins apiece.
The deciding match was settled in #6 singles, as Jake Hirschberg squared off against
Jakob Mostyn-Kolb. Mostyn-Kolb rallied back in the contest but ultimately dropped the first set 6-1 and Hirschberg sealed the victory for the Raiders with a 6-2 win in set #2.
The Seahawks will look to stop their two-match losing skid when they travel to Philadelphia, PA on February 14th to take on Temple University. Start-time is set for 5:30 pm.
