Results Hempstead, NY – The Wagner women's tennis team returned to action on Sunday morning at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Courts and were shutout by a 7-0 score.
The Seahawks fall to 3-2 overall while the Pride picked up its first team victory of the season in its dual match opener after competing in two invitational tournaments to open the fall season.
The Green & White were able to record its lone victory of the day at No. 3 doubles as the tandem of sophomore
Samantha Hodges (Encinitas, CA/San Dieguito Academy) and freshman
Rina Baynes (Johns Creek, GA/Chattahoochee) earned their sixth overall victory of the season, fourth in dual matches while remaining unbeaten out of the No. 3 spot after defeating the pairing of Guilia Leone and Ria Shah, 6-2.
Next up for the Seahawks a Northeast Conference (NEC) match against St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, October 17 at 9:30 am. Saturday's match marks the final match of the fall for the Wagner women's tennis team.
