Wagner/Brown Box Score
Boston, MA – The Wagner Water Polo team is going home winning two out of three games after beating Brown 13-4 today in the last game of the Harvard Invitational. It was a revenge win for Wagner, who had previously lost to Brown on Feb. 2nd by a 12-9 tally.
The Seahawks started hot, scoring four goals in both the first and second quarters, while allowing zero Bear goals in the first half.
Megan Rodriguez (Danville, CA / San Ramon Valley) scored three of her game-high four goals in the first half, with two goals in the first quarter coming from assists by
Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia / Mountain Creek).
Aside from the Rodriguez goals, it was a balanced attack for Wagner, as six different players were in on the eight first half goals. One of the Seahawk goals in the second quarter came from
Alexey Chandler (Sacramento, CA / Saint Francis) who scored her first collegiate goal off of the
Jessica Burdge (Stockton, CA / St. Mary's) assist.
Freshman
Emily Riddle (Edmonton, Alberta / Dr. E.P. Scarlett) finished the game with seven saves, one steal, and one assist on a goal by Burdge, who also had three assists herself in the game. In total, eight different players scored the 13 Wagner goals, while seven different players recorded at least one assist.
Next up, the 10-8 Green and White will travel from Grymes Hill to San Diego, to take part in the Aztec Invitational. The Seahawks will battle San Diego State and Cal Lutheran on March 15, before games against San Jose State and UCSD the following day.
