Staten Island, NY -
Wagner used a 21-0 run that bridged the end of the first and the beginning of the second half en route to posting a 59-48 win over Robert Morris before 2,113 fans at the Spiro Sports Center as well as in front of a MSG/FCS audience on Senior Day.

The Seahawks, who wrapped the No. 2 seed earlier this week, will now host No. 7 Central Connecticut in the Northeast Conference (NEC) quarterfinals for the third-straight year on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:00 pm.

Fans may purchase tickets through the ticket office on Monday starting at 10:00 am.

In the aforementioned game-changing 21-0 spurt that spanned just under nine minutes, junior Marcus Burton (Charlotte, NC / David W. Butler) hit four-straight three pointers to turn a 22-16 deficit into what would prove to be an insurmountable 28-22 lead with 1:39 to play in the first half.

With its eighth-straight victory, the Green & White improve to 18-11 and 12-4 in the Northeast Conference (NEC) while the Colonials fall to 19-12 and 14-2 in the league while seeing their seven game winning streak snapped.

Senior Kenneth Ortiz (Newark, NJ / Southern Mississippi) became the 41st member of the Wagner 1,000-point club with a team-best 18 points while senior Naofall Folahan (Cotonou, Republic of Benin / Wilbraham & Monson Academy (MA)) blocked five shots in breaking Miladin Mutavdzic's Seahawk single-season record and now has 81 for the season. Senior Orlando Parker (Orlando, FL / Orlando Christian Prep) also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and classmate Latif Rivers (Elizabeth, NJ / Avon Old Farms (CT)) had a team-high three steals to highlight Senior Day for the Green & White.

In the early going it appeared as though RMU would be the ones celebrating Senior Day as the visitors jumped out to 14-3 run in the game's first seven-plus minutes while forcing a Wagner timeout.

Later in the half with the Colonials still up comfortably at 19-9 with 9:38 remaining until halftime, the Seahawks made their move. Sophomore Dwaun Anderson (Suttons Bay, MI / Michigan State) hit a layup before slamming home an incredible dunk off a cross-court pass from Ortiz to trim the deficit to 19-13 with 7:18 mark of the stanza. Karvel Anderson briefly answered with a three pointer in extending the advantage out to 22-13 before the Green & White grabbed control of the game.

Ortiz started the run with a fast break layup off a rebound before Rivers hit a free throw. Burton then went into video game mode, hitting a long triple to cut the deficit to three before tying the game up at 22-22 with his second three. Following a defensive stop, Burton cashed in an offensive rebound with his third-straight three pointer. Then after yet another stop, the North Carolina native drained his fourth three triple. Junior Mario Moody (Jersey City, NJ / East Orange Campus) followed with Wagner's 17th-straight point on a layup, capping the 21-3 spurt while giving the Seahawks a 30-22 halftime advantage.

In the pivotal first half, the Green & White defense forced RMU into 12-straight missed shots to end the half while dominating the glass by a 28-14 margin.

After halftime, Rivers hits a pair from the line and Folahan a layup before David Appolon snapped the 21-0 run with a jumper before converting a pair from the line in trimming the deficit to 34-26 with just under 18 minutes remaining. The lead would reach double figures on four more occasions before Robert Morris made its final push.

Trailing 49-37 with 2:49 to play, the Colonials ripped off eight-straight points from Karvel Anderson in just 30 seconds.

On the ensuing play Moody grabbed an offensive rebound off a Burton miss and converted an old-fashioned three point play to stretch the lead out to 52-45 with 1:27 remaining while for all intents and purposes putting the game away.

RMU would cut it to six but get no closer as Anderson put the finished touches on the victory with an emphatic fast break dunk in providing the final 59-48 count.

For the game, Wagner limited Robert Morris to 27.4 percent (17-of-62) shooting, including a miniscule 22.2 percent (6-of-27) from deep, and just 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from the line.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, made good on just 38.6 percent (22-of-57) from the floor but blocked 12 shots while posting a decisive 49-37 advantage on the glass.

Anderson paced the Colonials with a game-high 21 points, on 7-of-16 shooting.

Burton joined Ortiz in double-figures with 15 points and helped close out RMU with three free throws in the final 1:04.

Despite not jumping off the stat sheet, Folahan (6 points | 8 rebounds), Moody (7 points | 8 rebounds) and Anderson (8 points | 4 assists) all had extremely solid games.
