Lewisburg, PA - In the second day of the Bison Invitational, Wagner posted a 20-6 win over Villanova in the first day of the game, before falling to Michigan in the second game, 9-8.

For the second time this season, Wagner scored 20 goals en route to a win over Villanova, 20-6.
Jessica Burdge (Stockton, CA / St. Mary's) led the Seahawks with five goals, while
Rachel Burns (Auckland, New Zealand / Diocesan) had six assists in the win.
The Green and White got off to a fast start, scoring four first quarter goals while holding the Wildcats scoreless. Burdge had two goals in the quarter, while Burns and
Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia / Mountain Creek) were also able to find the net.
Wagner then scored five goals in the second quarter, as
Lily Doerfler (Annapolis, MD / Broadneck) had two scored in the frame, while Burdge, Burns and Lundgren also scored. Villanova was able to get two goals in the net during the second quarter off of
Emily Riddle (Edmonton, Alberta / Dr. E.P. Scarlett) who had eight saves in the win.
The third quarter was the highest scoring eight minutes Wagner has had all season, finding the net nine times from five different players.
Sidney Hoshko (Coronado, CA / Coronado) and
Megan Rodriguez (Danville, CA / San Ramon Valley) both three scores in the quarter, putting the game out of reach for Villanova in the fourth.
Wagner vs Michigan
In the night cap, the Seahawks faced off against Michigan, who Wagner was tied with in the latest CWPA rankings at #20. In a closely contested game, Wagner ultimately fell 9-8 to the Wolverines.
Wagner got on the board first, when Rodriguez found the net at the 6:05 mark in the first quarter. Following a Michigan goal, Burdge scored with 1:27 left in the first quarter as the Seahawks led 2-1 at the end of the frame.
The Wolverines took back the lead in the second quarter when they scored two goals, while Wagner was only able to find the net once from Doerfler. At the start of the third quarter, Doerfler tied the game 4-4 with her second goal of the game.
The Seahawks got two more goals in the third from Burdge and Rodriguez, while Michigan slid three goals past Riddle in the quarter to take a 7-6 lead into the fourth. Burdge scored her third goal of the game in the fourth and Lundgren added her first, but it would not be enough as Michigan held on for the 9-8 win.
With the loss, Wagner falls to 5-5 on the season with one game remaining in the Bison Invitational. The Seahawks will take on UCSD at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
