Latif Rivers scored a team-best 18 points against the Mountaineers in 29 minutes off the bench. It marked the 31st time that the Garden State native has paced Wagner in scoring and the 73rd time in 95 games that he has notched double-figures.

* Rivers ranks among the league leaders in scoring (14.2 ppg, 9th), field goal percentage (.493, 8th), 3-point percentage (.400, 8th) and free throw percentage (.770, 8th).
* Since returning from injury, he is averaging 12.3 points in 21.3 minutes per game off the bench while shooting 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the floor. Rivers also recently became just the fourth Seahawk to notch 1,300 points this century (

Marcus Burton had 13 points at the Mount and during NEC play is averaging a team-leading 16.0 points and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 46.9 percent (15-of-32) from the field. The North Carolina native is one of just two NEC players that have not started to rank among the league leaders in scoring (10.5 ppg-23rd NEC) while also ranking second in the circuit from the line (.872).
* Led by Rivers & Burton, the Wagner bench has averaged 39.3 points per game during league play while shooting 57.0 percent (45-for-79) from the field.
* Sophomore
Dwaun Anderson rounded out the double-figure scorers against Mount St. Mary's, finishing up with a career-best matching 12 points and is averaging 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game during league play. He has also now hit for double-figures in three of his last five games after doing so just once in his first 42 games.
* Anderson was recently cited as having the top dunk of the first half of the college basketball season by the Sporting News and garnered top billing on
ESPN's #SCTop10 on Saturday, January 11 for his alley-oop dunk off of a Rivers' backboard pass. The dunk was Anderson's fourth career top-10 play on the worldwide sports leader.
* In the loss to the Mountaineers, the Seahawks fell for the first time this season (4-1) and the second time (20-2) in the last three years when scoring at least 80 points.
* Despite failing to notch double-figures in scoring for the third-straight game, senior
Kenneth Ortiz continues to rank among the league leaders in scoring (12.6-14th), assists (4.2-8th), steals (1.5-5th) and free throw percentage (.742-12th) while posting a 1.46 assist/turnover ratio (10th NEC). He is the only Wagner student-athlete to earn NEC Player of the Week accolades this year, after averaging 13.5 points, 6.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in wins over Vermont and Coppin State.
* During NEC play, Ortiz is averaging 7.0 points per game on just 21.2 percent (7-of-33) shooting, but is handing our 6.3 assists each time out while posting an impressive 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.
* Junior
Jay Harris continues to star in Seahawks' guard-dominated offense and ranks among the NEC leaders in scoring (10.1-24th), assists (3.0-12th), three-point percentage (.423-4th) and three-pointers/game (2.2-8th).
* Thanks to Rivers, Ortiz, Harris and Burton, the Green & White guards have accounted for 68.9 percent of the offense (793/1151) of the team's scoring.
* Senior
Naofall Folahan broke
Frantz Pierre-Louis' 14-year school-record for blocks at Central Connecticut, before blocking two more against LIU Brooklyn. Folahan now has 180 blocks and ranks 45th nationally with a league-best 2.4 blocks per game and is 12th in the NEC with 4.9 rebounds each time out. In his career, Folahan has now blocked four or more shots on 12 occasions with Wagner going 10-2 in those games.
* Folahan, Ortiz, Parker and Rivers comprise the Seahawk senior class, which has registered 65 wins since descending on Grymes Hill and has accounted for 46.4 percent (534-of-1151) of the team's offense this year. Parker ranks among in the NEC leaders in rebounding (5.2-9th) and blocks (0.9-10th).
* Wagner is a perfect 6-0 when leading with five minutes to play this season and is 47-1 over the last three years, including posting 41-straight victories.
* Since head coach
Bashir Mason took over at the start of last season, his teams have limited the opposition to less than 40 percent shooting in 26 of the Seahawks' 47 games. Additionally, the Green & White is a perfect 10-0 when limiting teams to less than 35 percent during that time.
* Mason, who was a finalist for the
CollegeInsider.com Joe B. Hall First-Year and Ben Jobe Minority Coach of the Year awards last season, is 27-20 in this his second year on Grymes Hill. He reached the 20-win plateau for his career in his 33rd game against Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, November 12, matching
Chester Sellitto's 47-year school record.
* For the second season in a row, Mason, who is 29 years and 341 days old, is the youngest Division I head coach as well as the lone head man under the age of 30. In 2012-2013, Mason led the Seahawks to a 19-12 record (12-6 NEC) in 2012-2013. Both his overall and NEC win totals represented school-records for a rookie coach.
* Saint Francis U head coach Rob Krimmel, like Mason, is in his second year as a head coach, but has been part of the Red Flash program as a player, assistant and now head coach since the 1996-1997 season. In his 18 years with SFU, he is 13-17 against Wagner.
* Today's match-up also features a pair of multi-sport athletes as freshman
Nolan Long will play for the Seahawk baseball team later this spring while Saint Francis U junior Matt Mazzara is also a member of the football team.
* Since the start of the 2011-2012 season, Wagner, which was picked to win the 2014 NEC Championship by the league's coaches, is 52-26, including 29-10 during conference play and 21-14 in non-conference action.
* Over the last three years, the Seahawks are 26-13 in games decided by less than 10 points or in OT, 39-2 when limiting opponents to less than 70 points, 35-6 when scoring at least 70, 39-2 when leading at the half, 16-6 following a loss and 31-4 when shooting 45 percent or higher.
* Wagner is off to a solid start on defense, leading the NEC in rebounding (37.5), blocks (5.4) (39th NCAA), field goal percentage defense (.402) (55th NCAA) and three point field goal percentage defense (.319) (88th NCAA).

SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS U
Saint Francis U enters today's game with a 3-13 record, including a 1-2 mark in the NEC, and is led by junior Earl Brown, who is averaging a team-best 14.0 points and a NEC-leading 9.9 rebounds per game. Freshman point guard Malik Harmon is the team's second-best scoring option, averaging 9.6 points and 3.4 assists each time out. Rounding out SFU's top offensive players are junior Dominique Major (8.3 ppg) and sophomore Ben Millaud-Meunier (7.6 ppg) as the pair is arguably the league's top long range duo, averaging a combined 4.1 triples per game.
KEY MATCH-UPS
Wagner is limiting opposing teams to a league-low 40.2 percent shooting with Saint Francis U checking in at just 39.3 percent from the field. Additionally, the Seahawks are pulling down a NEC-best 37.4 rebounds per game while the Red Flash is last in the league with just 29.9 caroms each time out.
OVER THE FIRST THREE NEC GAMES ...
SFU is shooting at a 49.3 percent clip, including 45.2 percent from long range, as both totals are over 100 points better then its overall season average. Additionally, Major and Millaud-Meunier are converting on a combined 51.4 percent (18-for-35) from deep while averaging 6.0 triples per game during that time.
MAKES SENSE
Wagner is 8-1 this season and 44-6 over the last three years - including 25-3 since the start of last season - when outshooting the opposition The Seahawks are also 6-2 this season when winning the rebounding battle and 36-8 since 2011-2012.
TOPPLING THE GIANT
The Green & White throttled three-time defending NEC Champion LIU Brooklyn 84-70 thanks to another stellar performance from Moody, who recorded a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. His performance marked the fourth time in his career that he has notched 19 points with three coming against the Blackbirds as well as two of his six double-doubles. Over four career contests against LIU Brooklyn, Moody is averaging 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 65.9 percent (29-of-44) from the field.
A TALE OF TWO HALVES
Wagner is averaging just 32.0 points per game in the first half while shooting 38.2 percent from the floor, including 33.3 percent from deep, and 67.5 percent from the line. After halftime, the Seahawks are scoring 39.1 points each time out while shooting 46.3 percent from the field, including 34.6 percent from deep, and 73.2 percent from the line.
HIGH-POWERED BACKCOURT
Thanks to the stellar play of Burton, Harris, Rivers and Ortiz, the Wagner backcourt has accounted for 68.9 percent (793-of-1151) of the team's offense while posting 44 of the Seahawks' 54 double-digit performances.
INSTANT OFFENSE
Burton paced Wagner in scoring against Coppin State (21), CCSU (18) and UIC (17) despite coming off the bench, continues to the lead the Seahawks' reserves. The Green & White second unit has outscored their counterparts in 13 of 16 games thanks to the North Carolina native.

MASON ANNOUNCES CLASS OF 2018
Mason recently announced the signings of
Joseph Cooper (Wilmington, DE / Concord),
Aaren Edmead (Deer Park, NY / Deer Park) and
Corey Henson (Upper Marlboro, MD / DeMatha Catholic) to National Letters of Intent. Cooper will be playing his senior season at Concord High School averaging 13.0 points, 4.0 steals, 3.9 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game as a junior at the Tatnall School. As a junior, Edmead averaged 14 points per game while helping lead Deer Park to a 17-4 record, a league championship and the Suffolk Class AA title game. Henson averaged 10.7 points while draining 48 three-pointers for DeMatha Catholic as a junior and is the top returning scorer for the Stags.
