Holmdel, NJ - Senior
Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) finished 19th with a time of 20:28.91 to lead the Wagner women's cross country at the at the 19th annual 5K Monmouth Invitational.
As a team, the Seahawks placed fifth at the Holmdel Park course with 114 points. Rutgers captured the team title (36 points) with the Scarlet Knights' Paige Senatore claiming the individual crown with a mark of 18:43.85.
Senior
Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) was the second member of the Green & White to cross the finish line, clocking in with a time of 21:28.80 to place 28th.
Junior
Heather Wolf (Pine Brook, NJ / Montville Township) finished just behind Bivona in 32nd (21:41.68), followed by senior
Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) in 37th (21:48.48). Sophomore
Danielle Iacampo (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) rounded out the scoring for Wagner in 38th (21:55.14).
"We are getting healthier and this week was a good step forward for us in our preparation for the NEC meet," said head coach
Joe Stasi.
The Seahawks will next get a glimpse of the NEC Championship course when they travel to Saint Francis U for the 5K Father Bede Invitational on Saturday, September 28.
