Somerset, NJ - Three key players for the Wagner Seahawks took home Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week recognition Monday after collecting two victories to open the 2013 with a 2-0 mark. The sweep highlighted the first back-to-back wins for the Seahawks since 2011.

Midfielder Siara Kolpon (Wayne, NJ / Wayne Hills) kicked off her sophomore campaign with four points over the weekend, collecting two assists and one goal in Wagner's victory over Saint Peter's, earning her NEC Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career. Kolpon earned NEC Rookie of the Week accolades last season (10/21).
Joining Kolpon in the weekly honors is goalkeeper Katie Marcy (Bellmore, NY / John F. Kennedy). Marcy played 180 minutes between the posts and recorded seven saves. Marcy was instrumental in the 2-1 defeat of MAAC regular season champions Fairfield on Sunday.
Notching her first NEC Rookie of the Week was freshman Amanda Buck (Bay Shore, NY / Islip). Buck scored her first collegiate goal on her only shot attempt against Fairfield.
The Seahawks return to action at home on Sunday, September 1, against Holy Cross at Hameline Field. Kick off is at 3:00 p.m.
