The Green & White picked up the all-important doubles point to start the match. Freshmen
Christian Grau (Dallas, TX / Spring Creek Academy) and
Sawyer Fonda (Kelowna, British Columbia / Okanagan Mission Secondary) won easily at No. 1 by an 8-1 count. With Rider winning at No. 3, it came down to second doubles to decide the point. Seniors
Taylor Santoro (Absecon, NJ / St. Augustine Prep) and
Christian Rautenstrauch (Charlotte, NC / Providence Day) would prove to be up the challenge, squeaking out a 9-7 victory to secure the point.
At No. 1 singles, Grau rolled past Rollie Malfitano by scores of 6-1, 7-5 in picking up his team-best third win of the year. Rautenstrauch collected his first victory of the year at No. 2, defeating Stephen Brand in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Fonda capped the victory with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Ryan Carpenter at No. 3 singles.
Rider was victorious at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to provide the final 4-3 score.
Wagner will look to make it two in a row on Friday, April 5 against Saint Peter's at 3:00 pm.
