Staten Island, NY - Neither snow nor cold temperatures cold stop Wagner from holding the 2013 Wagner College Invitational.
Some of the Wagner highlights included:
Skylar Johnson (Point Pleasant, NJ / Point Pleasant Borough) breaks Wagner Invite record in Pole Vault, clearing 13'11.75” and taking first place.
Sophomore
Alaina Bontales (Holmdel, NJ / Holmdel) was a winner in the pole vault, clearing 8'7”.
Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) finishes fourth in 5,000 meters,
Jacob Malakoff (Tasmania, Australia / Friends) took fifth.
Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) finished third in 5,000, while teammate's
Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) was fourth, and
Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) was sixth.
Emily Pereira (Howell, NJ / Freehold Township) wins the Women's 800 in 2:26.48, while teammate
Brittany Martin (Frackville, PA / North Schuylkill) was third in 2:29.78.
The Seahawk women took the top three places in the 200 meters when
Imani Jones,
Morgan Kaisershot, and
Becca Valente crossed the line ahead of the field. Jones was first in 27.48, while Kaisershot was first in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:07.49, and Valente was third in the 400 meter dash at 1:01.93.
Alan Kopeloff (Staten Island, NY / Monsignor Farrell) took fourth in the 110 meter hurdles at 15.91 then took fifth in the 400 hurdles at 1:00.61.
Samantha Jensen (Ocean Gate, NJ / Central Regional) took second in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:10.40, while taking third in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.57.
Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) wins the Men's 1500 meters in 4:03.31.
The Seahawk women took places two through six in the 1500, when
Kelly Pereira,
Victoria Spector,
Samantha Lauro,
Danielle Iacampo, and
Cameo Kirk crossed the line all together. Pereira's 4:49.90 was good enough for second place.
