Seahawks Fall To #12 Princeton, 14-8

Philadelphia, PA – In the final game of the MAAC/CWPA Crossover, Princeton knocked off Wagner, 14-8. The Seahawks are now 7-4 on the season after going 2-1 over the weekend in Philadelphia.

Wagner was behind from the beginning, as the #12 Tigers scored four goals in the first while the Seahawks were unable to find the net. It was better in the second quarter for Wagner, when the team scored four goals and only allowed two.

Megan Rodriguez (Danville, CA / San Ramon Valley) put Wagner on the board first, as the freshman scored off of an assist from Jessica Burdge (Stockton, CA / St. Mary's) that was all started when Michelle Greenough (Davis, CA / Davis) drew an exclusion. Wagner got goals from Lily Doerfler (Annapolis, MD / Broadneck), Katie Jordan (Westlake Village, CA / Agoura), and Burdge later in the frame, as the Seahawks went into halftime trailing 6-4.

The Seahawks were unable to make a second half comeback, as the Princeton outscored Wagner 3-2 in the third quarter, then 5-2 in the fourth.

Burdge led the Seahawks in scoring, putting three goals in the back of the net while adding two assists. Doerfler and Rodriguez both added two goals for the Seahawks. Goalie Laura Karbach (Abington, PA / Germantown Academy) stopped 12 shots on the day and added a steal.

Next weekend, the Seahawks will travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to take part in the Marist Invitational.
