Four First Place Finishes For Wagner At Monmouth

– Senior Zachary Spector was an individual winner in the 3,000 meters on the Men's side and sophomore Kayleigh Macchirole crossed the line first for the Women in the 500 meters as the Wagner Track & Field Teams competed at the Monmouth Moonlight at the MAC.

Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) who finished the 3,000 meters a minute faster than the field, crossed the line in 8:33.43. The personal best time of Spector narrowly missed qualification for the IC4A meet, by .23 seconds. The senior will still have a chance to compete, as the 4,000 meter Distance Medley team has already qualified for the meet.

Macchirole (Greenport, NY / Bishop McGann-Mercy) took the 500 meters in 1:18.44, more than a second faster than her nearest competitor.

The Wagner Women had two other first place finishers on the relay side. The 1600 medley team of Emily Pereira, Becca Valente, Samantha Jensen, and Cameo Kirk took first in a school record time of 4:15.78, while the 4x400 relay team of Morgan Kaisershot, Samantha Lauro, Taylor Fredrickson and Victoria Spector finished first in 4:21.73.

Other top performances from the Men's and Women's team are as follows:

Timothy Mendez finished second in the 800 meters in a career best time of 1:57.45. Teammate #Darius Moulton was close behind him in third at 1:58.56.

Nicole Cooper took second place in the triple jump with a leap of 36'10.5”.

Skylar Johnson was second in the pole vault, clearing 14'5.25”.

Emily Pereira finished second in the 800 meters at 2:22.32. Her sister, Kelly Pereira was third behind her at 2:23.62.

Jacob Malakoff ran a career best in the 5,000 meters, finishing in third place at 15:07.16.
