Louisburg, PA - After being tied with Mercyhurst 4-4 at halftime, the Seahawks scored seven third quarter goals on their way to a 13-6 win over the Lakers. Reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Jessica Burdge (Stockton, CA / St. Mary's) led the offensive output with three goals and an assist.
The Seahawks got a big game from senior
Laura Karbach (Abington, PA / Germantown Academy) who set-up the three goals by Burdge, on her way to a four assist game. Karbach also added eight blocks and a steal on the game.
Junior
Ashton Cline (Carlisle, PA / Cumberland Valley) scored her first goal of the season in the fourth quarter, while also adding an assist to fellow junior
Stacy McGregor (Sinking Spring, PA / Wilson).
Two first-year players made an impact on offense for Wagner as
Megan Rodriguez (Danville, CA / San Ramon Valley) and
Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia / Mountain Creek) scored two goals each.
Wagner will now go up against Princeton in the second game of the Bucknell Invitational. The Seahawks will have two Sunday games against Indiana, who was ranked 12
th in this past week's Collegiate Water Polo poll, and Brown, who Wagner went 1-1 against in the Brown Invitational this past weekend.
